Souvenir Medal. Individuals attending the
Jubilee celebration had the opportunity to purchase a variety of souvenirs
to commemorate the event. This metal pin, certainly more expensive than
the Brigham Young badge, also incorporates L.D.S. imagery, Utah symbols,
and a patriotic eagle for commemoration. A pair of clasped hands under a
hat marked "Souvenir" hold up a separate pin with a beehive. The rings
that connect the two pieces have been replaced. Original donation records
indicate the medal was worn by Bert McConkie. (Accession # 3997-002; dimensions: 1.25" wide x 3" long.; donor: LaPoint Camp) |
