This is Still the Place: Utah's 1897 Pioneer Jubilee

   

Iron. This flat iron belonged to Julia Houston Pratt Gardner of Richfield, Utah. Before electricity, women would heat these irons and use their immense weight to help remove wrinkles from their linens. This iron was donated to the Hall of Relics and labeled #30. The original label remains on the bottom of the iron. (Accession #670; donor: Julia Houston Pratt Gardner)
