Royalty Announced For 2011 The Days of '47 Celebration

Royalty for the 2011 The Days of '47 Inc. celebrations has been named to reign over the events surrounding this year's activities. The Queen is Courtney Curtis. 1st Attendant is Ashley Kearl. 2nd Attendant is Megan Howell. The trio was selected during a pageant held April 16th at the LDS Conference Center Little Theater. They were selected by a panel of judges based on talks centered on this year's theme, "Press Forward Pioneers", answers to judges questions, and family genealogy with pioneers who came to the Salt Lake Valley between 1847 and 1869. Megan Greenhalgh was voted Miss Congeniality and awarded the Annie Taylor Hyde Award.

The highlight of the summer's events is The Days of '47 Inc. KSL 5 Parade. The parade will be held this year on Monday July 25th beginning at 9:00 a.m. More information is available at www.daysof47.com.
